Walking in The Rain

It's been raining a lot lately, hasn't it? Outside, on our souls and on our spirits. One thing we keep forgetting though is that we need rain, it gives us what we need to grow. I love it when it's green... but it didn't get green on accident. Something we could ask ourselves to get us to our green: "Is anything too hard for the Lord?" Gen 18:14 "Restore, my dear Savior, The light of thy face, Thy soul cheering comfort impart; and let the sweet longing For thy holy place Bring hope to my desolate heart. He looks! and ten thousands Of angels rejoice, And myraids wait for his ward; He speaks! and eternity, Filled with his voice, Reechoes the praise of the Lord." ~Redeemer of Israel v 5&6 If you have any doubt at who I'm going to go to when the rain is pouring on me read D&C 19:16- So sisters, "Is anything too hard for the Lord?" Before going to your friends, kneel. He's waiting.

16 For behold, I, God, have a suffered these things for all, that they might not suffer if they would repent;

Been thinking about this today. Yesterday's lesson was on the atonement and how the Savior really suffered ALL things. I used to think this scripture meant if I repented I wouldn't suffer or it wouldn't really be that bad. Took 3 major illnesses to get it-- suffering can be purifying or it can be pure suffering. The more we can suffer in the way "he suffereth the pains of all men, yea, the pains of every living creature, both men, women, and children, who belong to the family of Adam."-- (in a christlike way) the lighter our burden.

Did you know why he suffered the pains and not just the sins? Beyond increasing his compassion for us, "he suffereth this that the resurrection might pass upon all men, that all might stand before him at the great judgment day."

Isn't it nice to have a physician who knows exactly what you're feeling from experience and who knows exactly what He'll do to heal it--permanently? Gotta love the concept.

Thanks Lady Blee!

Thought again about your comment and the rain. A talk I heard lately mentioned that everything created by God referenced the Savior and His sacrifice. With that thought-- rain is pretty symbolic-- comes from heaven, gives life, cleanses, pure, surrounding, and necessary.

Right on lady blee. Rain with everything it symbolizes is totally necessary. Trying to remember.
